WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING?
Hypnobirthing helps you prepare for the birth of your baby by releasing any fear, tension or worry you have about labour or birth. This in turn leaves expectant mother’s feeling more confident and prepared for the birth of their baby.
During the course you will learn techniques such as deep breathing, visualisation, and affirmations to help you achieve a more calm and confident state of mind. By understanding the physiological process of birthing, you will learn how to work with your body and mind to minimise tension. The hypnobirthing approach not only empowers women to trust their bodies but also encourages the involvement of their partners, developing a more supportive environment throughout the birthing experience.
You will also receive all the information you need to navigate the healthcare system by understanding which procedures are routine and what alternatives are available. This will equip you with the knowledge to make the best possible decisions for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and labour.
KG HYPNOBIRTHING
I teach the KGHypnobirthing method developed by Katherine Graves. Started in 2005 Katherine has developed and evolved this course over many years, to become the standout in Hypnobirthing content. She has taught and helped thousand’s of mom’s across the world and her course is accredited with the Royal Midwifery College.
What sets the KG Hypnobirthing course apart from others is it’s in depth approach to hypnobirthing which will take you through the full course and guide you through the daily practices. For hypnobirthing to really make a difference you need all the information and access to the daily practice. This in turn will give you the knowledge to empower you to enjoy a calm birth.
KGH was pioneering in looking at the maternity care, breaking it down so you can understand the system you are in and how to make the right decisions for you.

I recommend starting your course in the second trimester as by then you’re hopefully over the early pregnancy symptoms and have a bit more of your energy back. It also means you can enjoy the benefits during your pregnancy as well as at the birth of your baby.
Hypnobirthing is less about memorising facts so they’re fresh in your mind and more about feeling comfortable with the information and practice that it becomes second nature. This will allow you to relax quickly and easily during labour.
However, there is no wrong time and hypnobirthing will make a difference whenever you start it.

Ideally your birth partner will attend with you. Birth partners play an important role in Hypnobirthing and both of you will be glad they attended. After attending the course your birth partner will be knowledgeable and able to support you during labour. They will also be able to advocate for you with your care-givers, feeling confident in the birth room.
Research shows that continuity of care can have a hugely beneficial effect on how relaxed a mother feels during labour. And who best to have been with you through the whole journey than your birth partner.

Hypnobirthing has a profound effect on labour and birth regardless of the method of birth. It’s true that many women who explore hypnobirthing are hoping for a more efficient natural birth. However the relaxation techniques are applicable and useful for any type of birth. In addition to this you will also learn about all your pain relief options, the golden hour and any questions that crops up during pregnancy e.g. Group B strep, induction of labour.
Where and how you choose to give birth is 100% your choice. My goal for Baby in Bloom is to equip you with all the information so you can make the best possible decision for you and your baby.
